Savills France launches a logistics business unit
Savills France has launched a new department dedi-cated to logistics real estate, appointing Alexandre Fraigneau as Director of Logistics Transaction. The opening of the Logistics Department completes our offer of tailor-made and integrated services, said Boris Cappelle, President of Savills France. The added value and dynamism of this sector has been demonstrated more than ever in recent months. Alexandre is a prime recruit to develop this new department. Before joining Savills, Alexandre Fraigneau headed the Industrial & Logistics team at Colliers International, after having been Head of the Industrial & Logistics Department at Cushman & Wakefield for nearly 3 years and spending 7 years at CBRE as Industrial & Logistics Consultant.
Paris-based Groupama Immobilier and French multinational oil and gas company Total have announced the off-plan signing of a 12-year renewable lease to make The Link, a 130,000 sqm twin-tower complex in La Défense, the future headquarters of the group. Designed by the architect Philippe Chiambaretta of PCA Stream, the complex consists of two towers linked on 30 levels by green walkways. The Arch wing will rise 228 m above the ground with 50 floors and the Seine wing will rise 165 m through 35 floors. The total investment and construction cost amounts to 1.5bn and the project is scheduled for deliv- ery in 2025.
Ivanhoé Cambridge, Bouwinvest and Greystar launch 1bn Paris student accommodation venture
Global real estate institu-tional investment com- panies Ivanhoé Cambridge and Bouwinvest Real Estate, alongside Greystar Real Estate Partners, have launched a new develop-to-core venture focused on funding purpose-built stu- dent accommodation and young professional accommodation in the Greater Paris Region, with an investment capacity of 1bn. This newly created platform will target new acquisitions, includ- ing ground-up developments and projects already under construction. The venture has already identified a significant
pipeline of opportunities in the Paris Region and is targeting a number of initial acquisitions over the coming months. Greater Paris and coliving mar- kets for student and young pro- fessionals are major growth areas for our European strategy, com- mented Karim Habra, Head of Europe & Asia-Pacific, Ivanhoé Cambridge. We believe this is the right time as the alternative housing market is well positioned with these trends and Paris is high- ly attractive given its higher-edu- cation institutions, while there is a signif icant growing demand for student housing.
